Small acts of kindness can make a big difference!
From November 3–20, 2025, join us in helping our local community with our Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Columbus Zoo Food+ Drive. In the wake of potential pauses to government assistance programs, we will be collecting non-perishable food donations to support our neighbors in need.
Guests who bring non-perishable food or personal care items to the Zoo entrance will receive $5 off one admission ticket for each item donated. All contributions will benefit the Mid-Ohio Food Collective and People In Need, Inc. of Delaware County, supporting families across Central Ohio.
Essential Items requested by partner agencies:
- Chili with Beans
- Tuna
- Canned Vegetables
- Canned Meat
- Soup with Vegetables
- Peanut Butter
- Canned Fruit (in Juice / Light Syrup
In addition to food, we will also gladly accept some personal care items.
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Bar Soap
- Toothpaste
- Body Wash
- Toothbrushes (all ages)
- Deodorant (any)
Please Note: We are unable to accept perishable, homemade, home-canned and outdated food, bulk packages weighing more than 5 pounds or food in glass container.
Simply drop off your items at the shelter prior to the EVOLV security system to get your voucher.
