Powell, OH – The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium will host its annual Teddy Bear Safari from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 13. Children ages 2 to 9 that bring a teddy bear on this day will receive complimentary admission when accompanied by a paying adult.
Children whose bears need extra care can visit the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Bear Care Den where volunteers will be on site offering teddy bear checkups. Stations will be stocked with stitches and Band-Aids to patch up scrapes and minor bear “boo boos” in an effort to teach children about their own annual check-ups before heading back to school.
In addition to the teddy bear clinic, visitors can watch some of their favorite animals beat the heat by receiving ice blocks filled with treats during “Block and Roll.” Face-painting and character ambassadors will also be available for children.
Teddy Bear Safari is presented by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Zoombezi Bay admission is not included.
