To be considered for this recognition, a panel of travel experts, recruited by USA TODAY editors, nominated 20 facilities per contest category. After 4 weeks of online public voting, the winners were officially announced. We are honored and humbled to have achieved second place on such a strong list of contenders consisting of our zoological peers and colleagues.
