Columbus Zoo and Aquarium to Show Appreciation for Franklin County Residents During Community Days

Powell, OH – The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium’s series of special Franklin County Community Days is returning in 2023 on select dates to thank Franklin County residents for graciously supporting the Zoo.

On May 14 and 15 and September 24 and 25, 2023, the Columbus Zoo is offering half-priced admission to all Franklin County residents. Additionally, Community Days will celebrate various local community partners and their service to Franklin County while guests have the opportunity to learn more about these important resources. 

The following organizations* will be stationed around Conservation Lake to help kick off the series this spring and provide fun, interactive experiences for Zoo guests:

•    North Community Counseling Centers
•    Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities
•    Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland
•    Action for Children
•    Ohio Children's Alliance
•    Columbus Humane
•    IMPACT Community Action
•    Central Community House
*Please note the list of participants is subject to change.

To join in the fun, the Columbus Zoo’s Ambassadors will also be on hand to say hello and pose for photos at select times throughout the day.

Guests can purchase the half-priced admission tickets in person on the dates that Franklin County Community Days are offered, or online. To purchase tickets online, the billing zip code must match a zip code from Franklin County. Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets online to help reduce their wait time in line. Franklin County Community Days tickets purchased online can only be applied to any date that the Community Days are offered in 2023. Zoo guests also have the opportunity to ride COTA’s Zoo Bus if they decide to visit on May 14, and September 24 and 25. COTA’s Zoo Bus provides a clean, safe ride to and from the Zoo from select stops. Riders receive $3 admission to the Zoo. The Zoo Bus operates on weekends in May, and daily from Memorial Day (May 29) through Labor Day (September 4).
