RUN WILD, presented by OhioHealth

JUL 7

Lace up your running shoes for this new Zoo event in July!

Run Wild, generously presented by OhioHealth, is a 5K run celebrating conservation.

  • Receive an event t-shirt and race medal.
  • Splash to the finish line, located in the Zoombezi Bay Wild Tides wave pool!
  • Enjoy free admission to Zoombezi Bay on the day of the race!

Where Will the Race Go?

The run will start at the front of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and into the parking lot in the direction of Powell Road. Participants will loop around the breathtaking pollinator gardens along Powell Road before heading back through the front entrance and into the Zoo. Runners and walkers will enjoy a trek around Conservation Lake and through the Asia Quest and Adventure Cove regions. Some animals will have access to their outdoor habitat spaces in the morning...keep your eyes peeled, and you may see them helping to cheer you on along the way! Runners will then come through the ride area in Adventure Cove, where they will head into Zoombezi Bay for a tour of the waterpark before making a splashing finish in the Wild Tides Wave Pool. Runners and walkers will then have the option to stay for a private pool party at the Wave Pool before Zoombezi Bay opens at 10:30 a.m.

Race Information:

  • Children over the age of three must be registered. Strollers are welcome in the run.
  • Runners and walkers are both welcomed! Race participants must be finished by the time the Zoo opens at 9:00 a.m.
  • This race will happen rain or shine.
  • Participants will receive a same-day admission ticket to Zoombezi Bay. If the participant wants to bring a guest to watch the race finish and join them for the day at Zoombezi Bay, they will need a separate spectator ticket. A link to purchase those will be emailed to race participants.
  • Zoo members get a discount! Stay tuned for how.
