The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is proud to partner with SWACO to host a Styrofoam recycling drive in celebration of Earth Day!
Accepted material includes:
- Expanded polystyrene (packaging materials, foam coolers, etc.). Please remove tape, paper, labels and any other contaminates.
The following materials are not accepted:
- Construction-grade foam (insulation)
- Expanded polyethylene
- Foam food containers
- Foam sheets or rolls
- Foam peanuts
Even if you do not plan on visiting the Zoo this day, you can still participate in the donation drive!
Upon arrival, let the parking booth attendant know that you are participating in the recycling drive and you will be able to enter the parking lot at no charge. Once in the parking lot, turn left and you will see the collection container. Please follow the cones once inside the lot.
The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium will be open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. with this event held 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. You're welcome to visit the Zoo during those extra hours with paid admission!
