Painting is one way our animal care team bonds with the animals in their care. The zookeepers offer non-toxic paints and canvas to some of our animals, resulting in beautiful works of art. From paw prints to broad brush strokes, each artist’s creation is one of a kind.
Enrichment is an important part of the daily care we provide to our animals. Enrichment is anything the zookeepers add to the animals’ environments to stimulate species-specific behavior such as foraging, exploration, problem-solving and even play. Each species’ individual needs are considered when designing enrichment activities.

Each piece of art is unique and our inventory changes frequently. You can purchase a keepsake art piece in our Columbus Zoo Marketplace gift shop located near the exit of the Zoo or online. Proceeds from the sale of animal artwork help support the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.
