POWELL, Ohio – A new comedy series, Comedy for Conservation, is coming to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium! Each of the three events will feature well-known comedians and benefit the Zoo’s Conservation and Education programs both local and globally.

Comedy guest, Matteo Lane, will kick off the series on February 6 and 7, 2020. Matteo is a New-York based comedian, who has appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Comedy Central’s Adam DeVine’s House Party, This Week at the Comedy Cellar, The Comedy Jam and HBO’S Crashing. He is also a featured comedian on the Netflix show, The Comedy Lineup. Before starting his comedy career, Matteo lived in Italy, working as an oil painter and an opera singer. He is fluent in five languages and has an impressive singing range of six octaves.

Featured next in the series is comedian Pete Lee on March 26 and 27. Pete was the first standup comedian to receive a standing ovation on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. When he performed at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, he was voted a standout performer. In 2008, Pete made his network television debut performing on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, finishing as a semi-finalist. Later that year, he shot his own Comedy Central Half Hour special and began producing and editing his own shows for the Internet, which led to receiving his own Web show on MSN.com called New York Minute:30. After also writing for several television shows, he is currently a cast member of TruTV’s Greatest Ever, and he hosts his own segment on Nickelodeon’s Nick Toons, in coordination with the NFL, called NFL Rush. He continues to be a regular on TruTV’s Comedy Knockout and Comedy Central’s Roast Battle.
