POWELL, Ohio – Dust off your swimsuits and mark your calendars! Zoombezi Bay opens for another exciting season beginning at 10:30 a.m. this Saturday, May 18!
The sneak peek opening weekend will be held 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 18 and 19. The regular season will begin May 23, with daily openings until Aug. 18. Zoombezi Bay is then open on weekends only from Aug. 24 through Labor Day.
This season will offer an action-packed line-up of events, special extended hours, and family fun for Zoombezi Bay guests. First, as guest safety is the top priority at the water park, Zoombezi Bay is once again joining forces with the world’s top water safety and training organizations to serve as a host site for the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™, held simultaneously with hundreds of locations in more than 20 countries, on Thursday, June 20 from 10-10:30 a.m. in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record. The event will offer a basic, 30-minute swimming lesson to children ages 2 through 12 years old (parents are also permitted to be in the water with their children) and is designed to help build awareness about the importance of teaching children how to swim in order to help prevent drowning. To encourage participation, Zoombezi Bay is offering participants a discounted entry of $10 each, which includes access to the entire water park following the lesson, as well as the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Registration is free for Zoombezi Bay Season Pass holders.
Later in the season, Zoombezi Bay Family Nights will provide guests the opportunity to enjoy extended park hours on the last Friday in June, Fridays in July and the first Friday in August. Select attractions will remain open while a family-friendly Dive-In Movie plays on the jumbo inflatable screen at the Wild Tides Wave Pool until 11 p.m. The show schedule is as follows:

From July 22-28, Zoombezi Bay will be decking the halls and pouring on the holiday cheer during Christmas In July, presented by Wendy’s. This celebration will feature festive holiday activities, including visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus in their specially-decorated cabana, meet and greets with Christmas Character Ambassadors, music, games, prizes, specialty foods and gifts for sale, and more!
Continually striving to provide the best value for summer fun in Central Ohio, Zoombezi Bay is also offering special benefits to Season Pass holders. This year’s Season Pass holders will receive: early admission at 10 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays for themselves and their friends, who will receive a discounted rate ($12.99 per guest for up to two guests); a discount on ZOOMPASS, the waterslide reservation system that electronically holds guests’ place in line while they explore the rest of the park (a ZOOMPASS season pass option is now available this year for an additional fee); exclusive access to the Season Pass entrance, picnic shelter and Cooler Cove; and free admission to all Zoombezi Bay Family Nights, featuring Dive-In Movies.
Additional amenities are available for guests throughout the season. All Zoombezi guests can opt to have access to electronic lockers for an additional fee. Guests can access their rental locker using a pin code keypad, minimizing the need to wait in line. Zoombezi guests looking for a little more privacy can also reserve a cabana. The park offers a total of 42 cabanas of varying amenities and prices. All cabanas include a private, shaded shelter with chaise lounges, dining table and chairs, mini fridge, and pin-code safe; Standard and Deluxe cabanas offer the additional full service food and beverage menu and private attendant service.
