Learn more about animals in new and exciting ways...right inside your classroom!
Choose from one of three programs offered:
- Totally Tropical Rainforest! From the top of the canopy to the soil of the floor below, the rainforests of the world are dynamic animal and plant communities. With the help of animal ambassadors, student will learn how humans are dependent on these amazing ecosystems. (Grades K-6)
- Animal Care and Training. Operant conditioning is a huge part of animal care and training! This program lets students witness training-in-action with some of the Zoo’s most incredible animal ambassadors.
Both interactive programs feature animal ambassadors and focuses on conservation, sustainability, best practices in animal care and welfare, and most importantly...the value of connection between people and animals. (Grades 6-12)
- What Zoos Do. This interactive 45-minute program featuring animal ambassadors will allow high school students to learn more about conservation, best practices in animal care, animal training, and zoological career opportunities, while highlighting the value of connection between people and animals. (High School Students)
All programs are 30-45 minutes long and are created for a maximum of 40 students per session. They are available September through May. Two months advanced notice is required.
Cost: $300 for first program and $200 for a second consecutive program on the same day and at the same location. There is a $300 travel fee for events outside of Franklin County. Virtual options are available for $300.
