The Zoo is in the solar eclipse path of totality, and, with the expectation of high guest attendance and heavier-than-normal road traffic around the area, we wanted to share what we're proactively planning to help ensure our guests remain safe while having a great time.

What We Ask of Columbus Zoo Guests

  • Delaware County is expecting heavier-than-normal road traffic, and public service personnel will be working hard to ensure our safety countywide. Do not park or stop on the roads that lead to the Zoo.
  • Once in the Zoo parking lot, follow signs and entrance routes to a parking spot.

Please save this parking map to your mobile device prior to your visit to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.
  • The Zoo will be fully open. However, we ask guests to avoid any areas that appear blocked off by cones, signs, construction, etc.
  • The Zoo will be open until 5:00 p.m., and you are welcome to stay after the eclipse concludes at approximately 3:15 p.m.
  • Bring snacks, water, medication, your phone charger, and anything you may need for the drive to your destination once you leave the Zoo. The county is expecting heavy road traffic after the eclipse concludes, and our parking lot will be busy as well. Remember, extra security personnel will be in the lot, and we ask you to follow exit signs and lanes.
  • First responders and dispatchers will be very busy on this day. Please do not call 911 for road traffic complaints unless there is an emergency.
