POWELL, Ohio – Tap into your wild side during Craft Brew at the Zoo, presented by Columbus Brewing Company, on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Tickets are now available for this 21 and over craft brew celebration at the Columbus Zoo’s Waters Edge Park, which will feature beer, food and live entertainment, including headliner Sugar Ray.
Following the success of Sugar Ray’s number one breakthrough hit song, “Fly,” which put the band on the map in 1997, Sugar Ray released its second album, “Floored,” which went double-platinum. The band’s success rocketed front man, Mark McGrath, to pop star status as he graced the covers of “Rolling Stone” and “Spin,” and made People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” issue in which he was named “Sexiest Rocker” in 1998. After “Floored,” Sugar Ray released “14:59,” and the CD went on to outsell its predecessor, going triple-platinum with hit singles, “Every Morning,” “Someday” and “Falls Apart.” The band’s success continued with the release of the self-titled album, “Sugar Ray,” which garnered the band its first ever top 10 album. The band has appeared numerous times on the Tonight Show, The Late Show with David Letterman, Carson Daly, and The Today Show’s Summer Concert Series, to name a few. Additionally, McGrath has hosted VH1’s “I Love the 80s” and “The Greatest: 100 Most Showing Moments in Rock and Roll,” and the primetime specials, “The World Music Awards” and “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show,” as well as Extra, Don’t Forget the Lyrics and Killer Karaoke on the Tru Network. He has been featured on a variety of MTV and VH1 programs, including the “Teen Choice Awards,” “My VH1 Music Awards,” “Rock ‘n’ Roll Jeopardy,” the “American Music Awards” and the “ESPY Awards,” and made guest appearances on a number of hit television dramas.
Sugar Ray welcomes The Pretty Filth as the opening act. Doors for Craft Brew at the Zoo will open at 6 p.m. with The Pretty Filth taking the stage at 7:15 p.m., followed by Sugar Ray at 9:30 p.m. (Times are subject to change without notice.)
