Fa-BOO-lous Halloween Fun for All at the Columbus Zoo's Boo at the Zoo This Fall

POWELL, Ohio – Get ready for lighthearted Halloween fun without the fright during the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium’s annual Boo at the Zoo celebration, presented by Wendy’s. Due to continuing popularity of this event in years past, the Zoo is now offering FIVE weekends of Halloween fun! This merry-not-scary, frightfully delightful event will take place during the weekends of Oct. 1-3, Oct. 8-10, 15-17, 22-24 and 29-31.

The schedule is as follows:

Fridays | 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturdays | 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sundays | 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This year’s Boo at the Zoo happenings include:

  • Jama’s Jack-O-Lantern Journey Seek-N-Find
  • Tommy C. Turtle’s Trick or Treat Trail
  • Character Ambassador Rolling Celebration
  • Halloween Homecoming at Frogwortz Academy
  • Zoo Boo Choo-Choo train ride through Vertebrate Village
  • Other themed areas and attractions

Know Before You Go:
To ensure a fun and safe experience for all, Columbus Zoo staff worked together with the Delaware General Health District on planning this event with COVID-19 safety protocols and other accommodations in place.

Whether it be train rides, musical fun, self-guided tours or candy stops, Boo at the Zoo offers fun for the whole family— all included with the price of regular Zoo admission or membership. This Wednesday, September 8, 2021, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and Zoombezi Bay are holding open interviews to fill 350 positions throughout the fall and holiday seasons. Interviews will be offered from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the Zoo’s Lakeside Pavilion for a variety of seasonal positions in areas including food and beverage, retail, grounds maintenance, security, rides and attractions, and more.

Those hired in these positions will join a dynamic team of fun and hardworking individuals who will help contribute to the Zoo’s daily operations, as well as help to prepare for upcoming special events such as the family-friendly Halloween celebration, Boo at the Zoo, presented by Wendy’s; the Zoo’s spectacular holiday lights event, Wildlights, efficiently powered by AEP Ohio; and Central Ohio’s largest and most terrifying Halloween attraction, ZOMBIEzi Bay, presented by Mtn Dew.
